About Diana Laskaris
Some things you stumble into. Others find you.

I was living in New York on September 11, 2001. Like everyone around me, I watched the world change in a single morning. In the weeks and months that followed, I noticed something beyond the grief and shock. I watched it settle into people’s bodies and stay there. Sleep was often the first casualty, including my own. Lying awake, mind racing, I was unable to find the off switch. It wasn’t weakness. It was a nervous system doing exactly what nervous systems do when the world stops feeling safe.
That experience planted a seed. I wanted to understand what was happening, and more importantly, what could help.
I went on to become Clinical Director of a group of wellness clinics in New York. What I saw there confirmed what I had suspected. The right kind of support, the kind that works with both the conscious and unconscious mind, could help people find their way back to rest. Not by forcing sleep, but by gently removing what was in the way.
The world has only grown more uncertain since then. The volatility, the unpredictability, the ambient unease of modern life. Sleep problems have become all too common, and the people who come to me have often been struggling for years, not days or weeks. They have tried the obvious things, read the articles, downloaded the apps, cut the caffeine, followed the advice. Yet they are still lying there at midnight wondering what is wrong with them.
Nothing is wrong with them. They have simply learned patterns that no longer serve them, and those patterns can be changed.
Over more than twenty years I have built what I think of as a bespoke toolkit, drawing on a range of approaches that can be used alone or in combination depending on what each person needs. Some tools work best with the unconscious mind. Others address the thoughts and behaviors that quietly undermine sleep. Still others look at how we live during the day, because what happens between waking and bedtime matters. What I bring to every client is the judgment to know which combination will be most effective for them, and the experience to adjust as we go.
I am certified and registered by the American Board of Hypnotherapy, the International Hypnosis Association, and the National Guild of Hypnotists, among other professional bodies.
We work together via video calls, so there is no commute, no waiting room, just you, in the comfort and privacy of your own home.
If you have been tired long enough, I would love to help you change that. Book a free consultation and let’s talk about what’s keeping you awake.
